This movie takes an over-the-top approach, and includes a meaningful message without out taking itself seriously. The two worlds are handled well, much like Elf. It seemed to stay faithful to the Barbie product, while not being afraid to take tease/criticize it and Mattel. The themes are reminiscent of Legally Blonde. The set, costume, and visual effects design all earned chef's kisses. Overall it was very creative, funny, and a really enjoyable watch.
This movie had a lot of great gags and one liners, and was just fun to watch with the sets and costumes. However the plot and the ending weren’t great.
