Reviews
The runtime is too long for little kids, but as a remake, it does enhance certain story elements without losing the magic of the original.
This was a solid remake. Kept the good songs, added more world building to set the story in the caribbean, Melissa McCarthy was a great Ursula and Prince Eric was perfectly cast. Halle was great as Ariel and the visual effects on Under the Sea were fun. Love the twist at the wnd that Ariel is the hero, and the added clarity of the siren abilities and the merger between land folks and merfolks. A bit too long for kids but enjoyable if you're a fan of the original.
