Reviews
I wanted and expected this show to be something special. There's plenty of talent in front and behind the camera, all driven by Waititi's brand of irreverent comedy. It felt, however, like there was no budget left to round out the cast and set pieces. And weirdly, for a series trying to challenge the status quo, it retreats to standard tropes at every opportunity.
This show was such a hilarious and sweet swashbuckling experience. I rooted for every single relationship ship so hard. The whole show felt almost satirical, and goofy due to the content and some of the characters but also elevated beyond that in so many ways. It was funny, and sweet, and romantic, and deep and I need more now!
